Conventional cotton is one of the most used fibres in textile. It also demands the highest amount of freshwater when produced, and every year 26 million tons of cotton are harvested worldwide.
That's why we have developed a new fabric called OCN WEED®. The material contains innovative seaweed fibres that safeguard the future by saving water - unlike conventional cotton, which requires extreme amounts of water when produced.
It’s made from 420 heavy grams of organic cotton of highest quality, grown without pesticides and chemicals respecting the Earth. The toxic pesticides, fertilizers and chemicals used to grow conventional cotton have some of the highest levels of toxicity known to mankind, and harm the planets air, water and soil. The production of organic cotton relies on none of those chemicals and use 88% less water than regular cotton, reducing the pressure on the planets water supplies.
We use recycled ocean plastic for the designs in our CC Active collection. The use of recycled ocean plastic impacts the planet in four crucial ways. Firstly, it combats pollution by reducing the amount of plastic in our oceans, thereby helping preserve and save our beautiful marine life. Secondly, by recycling waste into premium quality products, we reduce the need for virgin materials. This means that we are saving water, energy, and minimizing our overall carbon footprint when producing our activewear collection.
